Growth-Stock Mentorship
for Superior Returns
| |
Overview |
|
 |
A student studies with his or her mentor and designs a
portfolio of 20 high-quality growth stocks to take home for
personal use in a retirement savings plan (RSP) or other
investing account. |
| |
|
 |
Before building on the portfolio at home, the student gives
it a nine-month ‘tryout’ by investing $1 – $100 in
each of his or her portfolio choices. |

|
Since 1987, ShareOwner has been teaching long-term investors – from all walks of life and educational backgrounds – how to earn superior rates of return, reliably, from their stock market investments.
ShareOwner’s qualifications to deliver that knowledge and skill include the superior performance of its top stock selections since 1987. The accompanying chart shows those selections outperforming Canada’s leading stock market index by a wide margin.
The material below provides highlights of the Mentorship’s ‘take-home’ benefits for students.

A student completes the Mentorship:
 |
Knowing how to recognize a top stock trading in its ‘Buy Zone’. |
 |
Knowing the prudent way to build a well-diversified portfolio of top stocks. |
 |
Knowing how to recognize a top stock trading in its ‘Sell Zone’. |
| |
|
That knowledge acquired and the skills practised during the Mentorship equip students to design, build and manage a personalized Take-Home Portfolio. Mentors meet monthly with students (via video conferencing) to review assignments, instruct, answer questions and pass on their practical investing experience.
Students choose a three-, six- or nine-month Mentorship during which to design their Take-Home Portfolio under the supervision of their mentor. When ready, students submit their proposed plan for a 20-stock Take-Home Portfolio to their mentor for review and comment.

| Nine-Month Portfolio ‘Tryout’ |
After receiving their mentor’s feedback on a planned Take-Home Portfolio, students can give it a true-to-life tryout – for nine months – by investing a modest amount of money in each of their portfolio choices.
For example, a student might choose to invest $20 in each of the 20 stocks for a total of $400.
ShareOwner’s unique Portfolio Building Service lets investors use dollar-based buying to purchase whole and fractional shares of stock (to four decimals). Purchases are credited to the student’s account at our trading affiliate, Canadian ShareOwner Investments Inc., a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund.
All buying and selling for the portfolio during the nine-month tryout period is without charge.
With a comfortable sum working in the stock market during the tryout period, students will experience their emotional responses to the daily ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ of their portfolio selections. That real-world experience will help students discover if stock-market investing is right for them. |

Who Enrols
Our students are from all walks of life and educational backgrounds. Many are seasoned investors in
stocks, mutual funds or other financial products; others are quite new to any type of investing.
However, students generally all share the goal of learning how to earn a superior rate of return on
the money they set aside each year in a retirement savings plan or other investing account.
The Mentorship appeals to students because it lets them design and try out a mentor-supervised
growth portfolio that they can build on following their studies. That practical hands-on investing
experience introduces students to the investing skills and confidence needed to earn a superior
return on their investing dollars.
